Thankfully, I live on top of hill, so we've been high and dry. However, the amount of water that has accumulated around town is unbelievable. People have lost their basements, their homes, and even their lives. As of Sunday evening the rain has finally stopped, but the water continues to rise in the rivers and low lying areas. Here are a few pics from my drive to work yesterday and today.
This video (from Saturday) is of one of the major interstates that runs through Nashville. This is about 4 miles from where I live.
This picture is from my aunt who lives along the Harpeth River west of Nashville. This is the intersection at the bottom of the hill from her home.
The water has reached the bottom of the stop sign at the end of the road.
The weather is supposed to be nice for the next several days which will hopefully help start to dry out the land, but it will be several days before all the water is back in its banks.
